Bring your camera (you may need a panoramic lens) to record the spectacular Caribbean vista. ACCESS TO BEACH: There is a small admission fee payable at the gated entrance to the parking lot. QUALITY OF BEACH: Magen's Bay is as popular as it is long. And it is long. The sand is hard packed and darker than most beaches in St. Thomas. Palm and seagrape provide some decorative green and offer cover from Old Man Sol. The water is shallow (and therefore bathtub warm) for quite a distance from the shoreline. Bring the kids to this one. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: There are picnic tables, a self-serve restaurant and a sizable bar on the beach. Bathing-suited waitresses deliver drinks directly to your rented beach chair.
